Citizenship and Immigration Canada will be accepting permanent resident applications for parents once again on January 2, 2015. Again they will be only accepting 5,000 applications and spaces will fill up quickly. The spaces were filled up in 2014 in about a month and a half so it is better to start preparing your application now. To be eligible, you need to have three years of Notice of Assessments from 2011, 2012, 2013. There are NO exceptions to this and since this category is such a hot commodity, they will return any applications that don't meet this requirement. To calculate your family size, add up yourself, your spouse and children under 18 or 19 (depending on your province). Then add up your parents and if they have any children under 19. That is the total family size and refer to this chart to see if you meet requirements. Contact us for a free consultation or book an appointment on our website!
